Does the card expire?

It depends on the brand. The expiry date is shown to you before you pay, and also shown to the recipient in the card details.

What happens if the card doesn't arrive?

If the card was created but delivery didn't go through, you can check the recipient's details, resend it another way, copy the secure link, or contact support.
